Spravato (Esketamine) Treatment in Fort Collins, Colorado
Spravato (esketamine) is the first FDA-approved ketamine-based nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression. At The Wholeness Center, we are proud to offer this groundbreaking treatment as part of our comprehensive integrative approach to mental health care.
What is Spravato?
Spravato is a prescription nasal spray that contains esketamine, a form of ketamine. It is FDA-approved for adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) — depression that has not adequately responded to at least two different antidepressant treatments. Spravato is also approved for depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) with acute suicidal ideation or behavior.
Insurance Coverage
Unlike traditional ketamine infusions, Spravato is covered by most major insurance plans. The Wholeness Center is working to be in-network with major payors, meaning broader access and lower costs for our patients.
How It Works
Spravato is administered as a nasal spray in our office under the supervision of a healthcare provider. Each treatment session involves:
- Self-administration of the nasal spray under clinical supervision
- A monitoring period of at least two hours after each treatment
- Regular treatment schedule — typically twice weekly for the first month, then weekly or biweekly
