Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: February 2026
Our Commitment
The Wholeness Center is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all people, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that every person deserves equal access to information about our services, providers, and resources for healing.
Accessibility is central to our mission of whole-person care. Just as we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment in our physical practice, we are dedicated to providing a digital experience that is usable and navigable by everyone.
Conformance Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
While WCAG 2.1 AA is our target, we continually work to go beyond minimum compliance and provide the best possible experience for all users.
Measures We Take
We actively implement the following measures to ensure the accessibility of our website:
Design and Development
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy for screen reader navigation
- Sufficient color contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA requirements
- Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes, orientations, and zoom levels
- Keyboard-navigable interface with visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
- Alternative text descriptions for all meaningful images and media content
- Descriptive link text that makes sense out of context
- Form labels and instructions that are clear and programmatically associated with their controls
- ARIA landmarks and labels where necessary to enhance assistive technology support
Content
- Clear, plain language that is easy to read and understand
- Consistent navigation patterns and page structure across the site
- Adequate text sizing with the ability to resize up to 200% without loss of functionality
- No content that flashes more than three times per second
- Multiple ways to find content, including navigation menus and logical page organization
Ongoing Practices
- Regular accessibility audits using both automated tools and manual testing
- Testing with screen readers and other assistive technologies
- Review of accessibility when new content or features are added
- Prompt resolution of accessibility issues when they are identified
Compatibility
Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Switch access devices
The website is built to function well in current versions of major web browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some areas of our website may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware of the following limitations and are actively working to resolve them:
- Third-party content — Some embedded content from third-party platforms (such as video players, scheduling tools, or patient portal widgets) may not fully meet accessibility standards. We work with our vendors to advocate for improved accessibility.
- PDF documents — Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these documents and to ensure all new documents are created with accessibility in mind. Contact us if you need information from a document in an alternative format.
- Animations — Our site uses scroll-triggered animations that
respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query. If you have motion sensitivity, enabling the reduced motion setting in your operating system will minimize or disable these effects.
Feedback and Assistance
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any accessibility barriers, have difficulty accessing any content, or have suggestions for improvement, please let us know. Your input helps us improve the experience for everyone.
When contacting us about an accessibility issue, it is helpful to include:
- A description of the issue and the page where you encountered it
- The assistive technology or browser you were using
- Your preferred format for receiving information, if applicable
We will do our best to respond to accessibility feedback within two business days and to resolve identified issues as quickly as possible. If you need information from our website in an alternative format, we will work with you to provide it in a timely manner.
